FALCON SCALE MODELS items reviews

After the post about Falcon Scale Models Panigale build, I decided to get some of the most relevant items from this new comer. I did my best to shoot all the parts the most close and clearly as possible with a macro lense kit added to my iPhone 12 Pro Max (I don’t own a camera).

FSM 007

This is the a clutch set for the Tamiya 14140 Ducati Panigale V4 Superleggera. The clutch is here very detailed, the clutch discs are visible once mounted. This clutch is a 3pcs set, the clutch nut in one piece, including the disc sandwich; the clutch bell and the clutch cover. Remember that the Tamiya kit was released with closed clutch while the real bike has a dry clutch, so here a great alternative to build an accurate Panigale V4.

FSM 014

If you want more detail and more accuracy, you can buy the FSM 014 which is the same as FSM 007 but added some screws for the cover. Remember that it’s in these tiny details that you will make the difference.

FSM 009

Talking about small details we keep exploring the Flacon Scale Models range with a set of screws that can be used in a lot of sections of our builds. I really like this set!

Kit contains:

49 big screws (hole size 0.6 mm, head diameter 1.2 mm, head height 0.5 mm, pin height 0,8 mm),
49 small screws (hole size 0.5 mm, head diameter 0.8, head height 0.35, pin height 0.8 mm)
Each item can be turned into rivet by filling hex hole with putty.

FSM 010

Still with small details but here for more skilled builders with this set of electrical/electronical connections. The kind of sets I’ve always dreamed about at my beginnings in scale models building.

I you want to bring your build to another level, specially if you plan to display fairing less, this set is a must have.

Kit contains:

10 connectors of A type – 2 holes on each side (dim. 1 x 1.7 x 3 mm)
10 connectors of B type – 4 holes on each side (dim. 1.7 x 1.7 x 3mm)
20 connectors of C type – 1 hole on each side (dim. 0.7 x 3mm)
10 connectors of D type – 4 holes on one side / 2 on the other (the same as B type).
set of wires in 8 colors (approx. 13 cm each, external diam. 0.6 mm, wire diam. 0.25 mm)
set of 2 shrink tubes, each in different size (approx. 10 cm long each)
Type C connector can be used to connect 2 wires as well as part of connector with smaller
diameter can be glued into previously drilled hope and then the connector can be used as cable joint
for example oxygen sensor or other ECU connections.
If needed color isolation from wires can be removed and then one can use thin wires (which
can be painted) for reproduction of multi wire connections. Holes in each connector (their size and
location) can be easily changed with the use of putty and drills.

FSM 015

Here we talk about the biggest range of Falcon with chain kit sets. The FSM 015 is made for Tamiya 14098 and 14100 Yamaha YZR M1 kits. The set is well designed with lot of detail in the inner part of the chain with sprockets teeth visible between the inner chain links. This set if a 1 piece, the sprockets are not separated from the chain.

FSM 16

This set is a good surprise for me, also made for Tamiya 14098 and 14100 Yamaha YZR M1 kits. The steering damper set is very detailed once again. You can see that even both left and right half part of the bottom triple clamp is sold for a top notch build.

Kit contains:

steering damper and adjusting cap,
front fork parts one on each side,
piston rod handle (spare elements includes),
set of screws (spare elements includes),
metal rod as piston rod.

I will probably use this set on other models too.

FSM P002

Back with the Tamiya 14140 Ducati Panigale V4 Superleggera. The FSM P002 is part of the Expert Line which is developped for skilled builders seeking the details as possible. This is a complete chain kit set but not only. You will find exhaust tips mesh and rear wheels lock nut too. Here, the sprockets are separated from the chain which is made of flexible resin.

Kit contains:

chain (placed on a stiff base),
front and rear sprockets (printed as separate parts),
rear sprocket screws (spare parts included),
rear sprocket mounting plate,
mounting plate for the right side of the rear wheel,
central nuts for the sprocket and wheel sides (spare one included)
metal wire for creation of the locking cotter,
muffler mesh.

FSM P006

Flacon Scale Models not only work for MotoGP and Superbikes, proof with this super set for the Tamiya 14055 and 14099 Honda NSR 500. My favourite parts are the ignition rotor, very detailed; and the carburetors mesh or the cain tensionners. I think it’s the first time we see the ignition rotor in a detail set. The chain which is made of flexible resin.

Kit contains:

chain (placed on a stiff base),
front and rear sprockets (printed as separate parts),
front and rear sprocket screws (spare parts included),
carburetor mesh covers,
chain tensioners, steering damper, wheel nuts, metal rods and wires, brake wire connectors,
swingarm – frame mounting parts (spare part included).

FSM 039

I end this review with the FSM 039 (base line). This set is brillant because you can add ECU and different electronical boxes and regulator to your build. From the front to the tail section, and also the air box (where now lot of ECU are located), stripped builds will never be the same. Great idea once again from Falcon Scale Models!

The set contains 40 electrical angular connector (4 types) plus 10 straight connectors and 2 types regulators and
2 types of ECU units. Each part has predrilled holes making this kit easy to use. Kit also include wires in 8 colors (approx. 13 cm each,
external diam. 0.6 mm, wire diam. 0.25 mm) and 2 shrink tubes, each in different size (approx. 10 cm
long each).

This is not the complete range that Flacon Scale Models has released with a lot of new sets coming soon. There are a lot of chain kits and other sets you can find in the best webshops around the planet.

The quality is here, the details also and this is the most important to me. Falcon Scale Models goal is to bring to every modeler, whatever their level, the possibility to add the most detail as possible to all their builds. Goal achieved then! I will use a lot Falcon Scale Models sets in my future builds, because I have some secret projects on the bench….. But you must wait until I show you….
